I don’t know about you but I am becoming bored of hearing about Covid 19 which has been classified as a pandemic by the WHO (World Health Organisation), some conspiracy theorists believe it has been manufactured to create an excuse for crashing the global economy and introducing a New World Order others have told me they believe the threat is even more severe than is being reported. Many people believe the flu is far more dangerous than CoronaVirus, so far there have been approximately 130,000 cases of Covid 19 Worldwide vs 1 Billion flu cases per year. Because this is a new virus people don’t have immunity to it and so it is spreading fast, being a hypnotist I believe in the power of suggestion and would say media coverage is helping it spread a lot faster.
Whatever your Covid 19 theory polluting your lungs and body with smoke and nicotine is never a good idea and I think we can all agree now is as good a time as any to stop.
A Bit About Covid 19
Covid 19 is a CoronaVirus similar to SARS (Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome), MERS (Middle East Respiratory Syndrome) the CoronaVirus family get their name from a distinctive crown of sugary proteins that project from an envelope surrounding the particle. As the name suggests these viruses attack the respiratory system, for many people (about 80%) Covid 19 is not deadly and they will experience nothing more than cold like symptoms but for people with existing respiratory issues such as asthma Covid 19 could develop into pneumonia.
Is Smoking Safe With CoronaVirus?
Smoking weakens the function of your lungs and could make you more susceptible to contracting Covid 19.
Deborah Arnott Chief Executive of public health charity Action on Smoking and Health (ASH) said: “Smokers are more likely to get respiratory infections and twice as likely to develop pneumonia than non-smokers.
“Quitting smoking is good for your health in so many ways and smokers should see coronavirus as further motivation to give quitting a go to build up their bodies’ defences now before coronavirus becomes widespread in the UK.”
She added: “Those in the NHS working with patients who smoke should see it as a priority to advise them to stop.
“Particularly among groups that are already highly vulnerable to respiratory infections such as those with COPD, and known to have very high rates of smoking which particularly includes those with mental health conditions.” The Sun reports. After seeing me for a stop smoking session one client said, “Well I was a little anxious obviously as to me it’s a new but needed experience as i needed to stop flipping smoking. Well I traveled from Brixton to Windsor today….well after maybe 1hr could be 2 I don’t know but by 4.30pm I will never smoke again…it’s now Saturday night, eas Easter…. I have no smoking thoughts at all….. Thanks mark.” To stop the spread of Covid 19 I am now conducting therapy sessions via Zoom.
